Lies of Mass Destruction -- Yugoslavia
The Serbian president is right... the West destroyed the rules based international order that they claim to protect when they wrongfully bombed Yugoslavia in 1999, and got away with it.
In 2007, eight years after NATO circumvented the UN Security Council and bombed Yugoslavia after accusing them of being a Nazi-like regime who was carrying out a genocide against Albanians in Račak, the UN World Court finally made a formal decision acquitting Yugoslavia, their then-president Slobodan Milošević, the Yugoslavian military, and Yugoslavia’s successor state (Serbia) of these charges. The court found that:
“Serbia has not committed genocide, through its organs or persons whose acts engage its responsibility under customary international law, in violation of its obligations under the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide.”
“Serbia has not conspired to commit genocide, nor incited the commission of genocide, in violation of its obligations under the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide.”
“Serbia has not been complicit in genocide, in violation of its obligations under the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide.”
Regarding Srebrenica, the World Court ruled that a genocide had likely taken place against Bosnian Muslims in 1994, but attributed it to a Bosnian separatist movement known as the Army of Republika Srpska (VRS). The court ruled that while the Yugoslavian/Serbian government was not complicit with the Srebrenica Massacre, they stood in violation of the Geneva Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide because they failed to transfer the VRS commander to the World Court to stand trial for his alleged crimes.
Despite these rulings, the Western Blob continues to view Yugoslavia as a genocidal state who deserved to be carpet bombed, and think tanks like the Austrian Committee for NATO Enlargement have called on Serbs to go as far as removing a memorial to the victims of NATO bombing campaigns and erect one in honor of Madeleine Albright in its stead.
Worth examination: The pattern forged in Yugoslavia that the US State Department has since then repeated to destabilize nations, topple regimes, foment ethno-nationalism, and ignite civil wars throughout the world.
